Deciding to Hire a Personal Trainer: Why I’m Investing in My Health

As a business owner and dietitian, I’ve always been proactive about my health. I’ve followed YouTube workouts and can follow instructions, but I started feeling like I needed more. I wanted more for my body and realized that having a trainer would give me personalized attention and help me reach my goals faster.

A Specific Plan for My Body

One of my goals is to focus on strength training, specifically weight lifting. I’ve noticed some skin flabbiness and want to see how strong I can truly become. I’m getting older, and I know the importance of preserving muscle mass, especially as a dietitian who understands how food and exercise impact body composition. This journey will be a bit of an experiment for me—combining diet and fitness to achieve increased muscle mass, decreased fat, and better overall flexibility.

The Fun Goals

Beyond building muscle, I’ve always wanted to do something fun, like a flip, handstand, or even a backflip! The body is such an incredible wonder, and I want to explore my own physical potential.

Working with a Trainer

I haven’t started my training yet, but I’ve reached out to a trainer, and we’re scheduling our first consultation. I’m excited about the possibility of having a plan tailored specifically for me. I know this will help me target areas I’m not fully aware of, while also celebrating the progress I make along the way.

Accountability is Key

As a business owner, I don’t have the time to figure everything out on my own, so having someone who’s good, kind, and direct will make a big difference. Since I’m paying for this and someone is waiting for me to show up, I know I’ll be accountable. For any woman balancing business and life, hiring someone who understands your goals can be a game-changer. We don’t have to do it all ourselves, and investing in help can speed up progress and make the journey more enjoyable.

Investing in Yourself

At the end of the day, hiring a trainer is more than just paying for workouts—it’s an investment in myself. Just like I would invest in my business to see it grow, I’m investing in my health to help me stay strong, focused, and at my best. For businesswomen who are used to putting everything and everyone else first, this is a reminder that taking care of yourself is not just a luxury—it’s essential for your success in every area of life.
